Our wedding photos

Laura & Gordon Cooper feel like family to us. Laura is a phenomenal artist and has transformed their home into a gorgeous gallery of art, symbolic of Jamaican history and culture.

“None but ourselves can free our minds.”

Bob Marley

We chose to have our wedding photos taken here so we could mold ourselves in and around the artwork and beautiful home they have made. We wanted to share this special place and wonderful talent with you by offering some insight into the art and nature we will be submerged in.

Mount plenty

Mount Plenty property was purchased in 1980 by the Hon. Maurice William Facey.

The property was famous for breeding horses, and even today thoroughbreds are crossed with an Arab resulting in beautiful horses for herding cattle and playing polo.

At Mount Plenty, a “cattle pen” from the 1700’s, you will find Laura interpreting the energy of the rich earth, the lush forests and the constant river.

The art makes the home

Learn about how Laura combines her artwork with organic farming and community development work.

The Egg house

It used to be an egg packing house when they had 30,000 laying hens as part of the farm. Although they no longer have the egg farm, she said she captured the building and now uses it to display her artwork.

The Solandra Series

The SOLANDRA art works are cedar boards that Laura painted using the Chalice vine flowers as her inspiration. The flowers are large, white and shaped like a goblet… And are perfect for celebration.

The river

The constant River, a beautiful hidden gem that flows through the mountains of St Ann.
